Sustainability
From its inception in 1978, Mountain View Vintners has forged strong relationships with growers in order to produce reasonably-priced wines of superior quality. Our growers are located in regions that offer strong varietal character and exceptional value, including Monterey (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir), Amador (Zinfandel), Carneros (Pinot Noir), Lake County (Sauvignon Blanc), the Delta Region (Pinot Grigio) and the Central Coast (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Moscato). It is these relationships with growers, built through the years, which allow Mountain View to continue to offer high caliber wines that possess incredible consistency and superior value vintage after vintage. Mountain View wines have retained their handcrafted style and have become favorites among retailers, the hotel and restaurant trade, while also serving as featured wines in first class on major airlines. Our wines are equally at home for casual sipping on the porch or complementing a variety of foods at the dinner table.
“Some of the best values in the marketplace have come from Mountain View. Smart consumers should be buying these wines by the case…” – Robert Parker

Our winemaker and head of production, Philip Zorn has been associated with Mountain View since 1991. The American-born Zorn was raised in Germany and attended the nation’s top school of enology before working for noted producer Weingut Pieroth. Upon returning to the U.S. in the mid-eighties, he distinguished himself as winemaker for a number of California wineries, including Sunny St. Helena, Gauer Estate, Paraiso Springs and Tria. Through this process Zorn has developed a keen understanding of winemaking in California.
